About Lisa Daniels

I live on the Pennine Way in the Peak District in a little village called Edale, beautiful countryside surrounds me and ramblers chat to me (when I'm not working of course!) all of which provides a lot of inspiration.  I use the Hope Valley landscape as my 'open air studio' and have a lot of fun placing people within it.  My family sessions are designed to be a reflection on the relationships between the members of your family, this is enhanced by being in the great out doors  - giving the sessions more of a sense of an adventure than of a photo shoot.  I specialise in natural, vibrant and artistic photography that captures the individuality of the client.

Caring for the Peak District as well as producing work to a very high standard using top quality materials is very import to the ways in which I conduct business and where ever possible my partners are local business' with strong environmental values.

I first realised that photography was my passion on my fine art degree course in Bath in the mid 90's, where I spent an entire year in the dark, mastering colour negative printing.  Lighthouses were my light source and the land on which the light was cast upon was my subject.  In 1998 my work was selected for New Contemporaries which is the leading UK organisation supporting emergent art practice from British Art Schools.  I also received a South West Arts development award to expand this project and it was exhibited in many prestigious galleries for many years after.

I became a Photographer for Avon and Somerset Constabulary and gained heaps of technical skills and experience over my 6 years with them. But I couldn't sit still, so I packed some clothes, my camera and a note pad and set off around the world for two life changing years.

I came back pregnant, got married and focused on being a full time mother. The boys now go to school, they sleep through the night and I finally have the time and energy to continue to do what I love.  I am thrilled to be getting back into professional photography and I have the children to thank that I have found myself here - loving youngsters and the fun I have whilst photographing them.  It gives me enormous pleasure to be the provider and creator of beautiful photographs, to harness your memories of these special years.

"........it is frozen motion, time is holding it's breath for an instant - and for eternity.  That is what I am after"  -  Andrew Wyeth

I cover the Peak District, Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Cheshire and Manchester areas, I love to travel and I'm prepared for surprises.
