Looking for a family adventure in the Peak District?  We should definitely talk!

My family portrait-sessions are carefree and full of life because you're engaged in having fun.

I offer three different styles of story-telling photo-sessions to capture your happy memories and they are:

01. Welly Walk
More of an adventure than a photoshoot

I know where all the best walks in the Peak District are!

Walking in the countryside makes the whole process of having your pictures taken feel very natural, you wander and I snap, you stop to play and I snap.  The camera is soon forgotten enabling me to capture emotions full of personality.  Often the stunning and iconic skylines of Mam Tor, Losehill or Rushup Edge create timeless backdrops for my family portraits as the Hope Valley becomes my open air studio.

I also love to share my local's knowledge of the flora and fauna and can take you on more secret, less crowded walks.  This is a perfect opportunity for families who like the idea of going 'off the beaten track' but who might feel nervous about doing so by themselves. There are so many beautiful footpaths in the Peak District with varying levels of difficulty and elevation - you're actually spoilt for choice!  Do get in touch  and we can start to plan a route. Walks typically take 2 hours.

Expect the unexpected! Wet wellies, mucky clothes and possibly skeletons as we explore the great outdoors.

Family Holidays in The Peak District, a perfect destination for your celebration or special occasion!

Create your perfect souvenir - by joining you for several short periods throughout your stay, I can photograph all the key moments: a group shot, a picnic, an activity/attraction or I can take you on a popular 2 hour Welly Walk. This is a bespoke option where the possibilities are endless so please do feel free to get in touch to discus your plans.

The National Park is easily accessible from many cities and it is centrally located within England.  Derbyshire offers many tourist attractions like Blue John Cavern, Treak Cliff Cavern and the Heights of Abraham.  There are also fantastic climbing and mountain biking routes to explore.

My home village of Edale has some of the top campsites in the Peak District  The GatheringNewfold Farm, and The National Trust's Upper Booth Campsite to name but a few. They are all perfect locations from where we can start a Welly Walk and from where to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty.

At home or a special place

Memories of the ordinary can be more easily forgotten than a celebration, so you will find that a set of photographs depicting the everyday will become, in time, very special.  Harnessing memories of a childhood home, the pets and the toys is a powerful gift.

With my attentive eye you can trust me to create artful portraits which are infused with details to celebrate your family.

In true documentary style I don't ask you to pose, I don't prompt or direct you, I'm not even going to suggest that you tidy up before the shoot! This shoot is uniquely personal and centres around your usual habits, it lasts around 2 hours.  Raising kids is hard, documentary photography is not forgiving, it’s real life without excuses.  It’s ok to feel, to see all the emotions positive and not so positive, we have to have both for the other to exist so please don't worry if, for a moment, your children get grouchy, we work with it and the moment soon passes.  If you like the sound of this please get in touch

We'll have a thorough consultation before the day of the shoot ensuring we have a clear plan of our time together.
