Would love to hear from you - do get in touch!

A little bit about me

The Peak District has been my home for over a decade,  and it's without a doubt an exciting place to bring up two strapping boys whose love for nature and adrenalin go hand in hand.  The amount of mud which goes through the washing machine is endless!

Here too my photography practice has grown and blossomed, I now cover many complimentary genres:

Portraits - Families - Weddings

Architecture - Interiors - Landscape Architecture

I approach my practice by capturing atmospheres with integrity.  I'm forever watching the light and fascinated by how it transforms interior and exterior spaces into evocative imagery.  With or without people - I have no preference!!  Quietly and confidently I assemble strong compositions by fragmenting the world into frames of colour and texture, finding beauty in the momentary patterning of  lines and tones.

Caring for the Peak District as well as producing work to a very high standard using top quality materials is  import to the way in which I conduct business and where ever possible my partners are local business' with strong environmental values.

In between commissions I’m usually outside, I love to garden and walk the footpaths.

Studying a fine art degree in the mid 90's sparked my passion for photography.   I spent an entire year in the dark, mastering colour negative printing.  Lighthouses were my light source and the land on which the light was cast upon was my subject.  In 1998 my work was selected for New Contemporaries which is the leading UK organisation supporting emergent art practices from British Art Schools.  I received a South West Arts development award to expand this project and it was exhibited in many prestigious galleries for many years after.

I became a Photographer for Avon and Somerset Constabulary and over 6 years gained heaps of technical skills and experience. But, I couldn't sit still, so I packed some clothes, my camera and a note pad and set off around the world for two life changing years.

I returned pregnant, we got married and I focused on being a full time mother unil the children started school.

It gives me enormous pleasure to be the provider and creator of beautiful photographs, to harness special times and places.

I cover the Peak District, Derbyshire, Yorkshire and beyond.  I love to travel so no job is too far.   I'm prepared for surprises.

ohh.......and did I also mention that I love teaching digital and analogue photography workshops to fine art students at Sheffield Hallam University?  Well I do!

I look forward to meeting you!
